NEW IDEAS FOR CHAUVIN'S FUTURE

Communities in Alberta are required to complete a Municipal Sustainability Plan. Many communities are experiencing extreme growth, while others don't seem to be moving ahead at all.. Both scenarios bring problems regarding keeping up with aging infrastructure. The Alberta Urban Municipalities Association invited communities to send in proposals and from those proposals five communities were chosen to be Pilot Projects to receive assistance to prepare their plans. We are happy to report that Chauvin was one of the communities chosen.

LOTS FOR SALE

The Village of Chauvin currently has various residential lots available ready for new housing. The lots are completely serviced and reasonably priced at $5000.00. Move to Chauvin and enjoy spacious living and down home values.

There is a building on Main Street (prime location), for sale for $15,000.00 (formerly a Confectionary). The building does require some maintenance in the front part. The lot size is 50 x 130. Great opportunity to open up a restrauant, small store, or whatever.

The Village also has a number of other commercial lots on Main Street for sale, some developed and some ready for new and creative ideas. Upon a recent survey of Village Residents, much interest was expressed in obtaining a new hardware store as well as other business ventures. Ideas such as a Confectionary, Meat Processing Plant, a Department/Variety Store and Food Establishments/Lounge were prevalent. The Village Council is very motivated and interested in encouraging new business ventures in our community, and Council is open to proposals.

Nestled in the heart of east-central Alberta, Chauvin is a community of contrasts. Its rich history speaks of a town many times its current size - the envy of neighboring communities.

Times have changed. The bustling trading centre of the early part of the century is a pioneer memory. Residents enjoy the tranquility and slower traditional way of life - no rush-hour, no line-ups, and no traffic jams. It's great!

The community is modern but in a positive way that promotes the friendliness and warmth of a close knit rural community.
